I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! the bosses reportedly annoyed locals living near Gwrych Castle, as the filming blocked access to paths and roads in the area.

With a few days before the arrival of a new group of campmates at North Wales Castle, last-minute preparations are in full swing for the series.

Ant and Dec confirmed their arrival at Abergele on Tuesday night, leaving viewers excited ahead of Sunday night’s premiere.

However, according to The Sun, those who live near the historic site are less than thrilled with the presence of show crews continually disrupting the area.

The outlet reported that an eight-foot-high metal fence has been erected around the castle, while some paths and roads have been blocked off for people living nearby.

Earlier this year, Councilor Delyth MacRae explained how locals feel ‘very aggrieved that their enjoyment of the land has been taken away from them due to recent changes in ownership as well as liability and safety concerns. “.

A spokesperson for Gwrych Castle previously told the Rhyl Journal: “We opened the gardens to the public in 2014 and then the castle itself in 2018.

“Before that, the entire estate was closed to the public, so we allowed access around the restored parts of the castle. We want to have regulated public access since the castle and the park are being restored.

“The entire estate includes Manorafan Farm, Abergele Golf Club and surrounding farmland, including the forest which has been leased to NRW since 1951. We will continue to engage with stakeholders. “

It is also reported that the Abergele Golf Club is closed to non-members until December 13.

The publication claimed that ITV will compensate for any loss of revenue while the show is running.

A statement from the golf club said: “As we are neighbors to Gwyrch Castle, where I am a celebrity… Get me out of here!” will be based for a second year, our course will be closed to non-members from Wednesday November 10 to Monday December 13, 2021.

“Members will still be able to play normally during this time, just like last year. The Clubhouse Bistro will always be open to serve its delicious menu during this time. ‘

“We’re very excited to be in production again this year and look forward to watching it later this month. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and look forward to welcoming our guests again from Monday December 13th! ‘
