Michel Desplanches, episcopal vicar of the diocese of Aix-Arles, n° 2 of the bishopric for neophytes, is appointed to the rank of knight. He surprised the Catholic world. It is apparently his commitment to Félibrige, his attachment to Provençal traditions, to the language of the Mistral and his interpersonal skills that are rewarded.

The highest distinction of the authorities of the Félibrige, had been attributed to him, the rank of majoral, from the hands of Capoulié, Jacques Moutet. By receiving the golden cicada on April 13, 2013, the Félibrige authorities recognized “his love of the Nation Gardiane, the Camargue and the Saints thanks to his involvement in the pilgrimage of the Saintes Maries de la Mer or the Nation Gardiane in Lourdes” but also his mastery of the language of the Mistral and his vocation to bring people together and direct them towards the ideal of the traditions of the lengo nostro.
