International Day of Women’s Sport – Clermont Foot

This January 24 is celebrated the sporting activity for women. The opportunity to highlight the work carried out within the women’s section of our club, which for the first season, registers more than 140 players. In its eighth season of existence, girls represent more than 30% of Clermont Foot 63 licensees.

From 5 years old, the club offers a practice for all, with weekly training and teams in all existing categories. An exception in the “Auvergnat” territory and a place in the top 5 clubs with the most licensees in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes league, the first region of France in terms of practitioners. About thirty girls under 9 practice every Wednesday afternoon and some Saturday mornings.

The U13 and U15 women, coached by senior graduate players Justine Eyraud and Marion Rabeyrolles play in men’s championships. They have just finished first in their pool and each get a promotion to D3!

The first senior team has a 7-point lead over the second and hopes to quickly validate this position synonymous with the D2 accession dam. The players coached by Quentin Vaillant have just won two mid-season friendly matches, against Auxerre (2-1) and Bourges (7-2), two other contenders for the climb. Faiza Houmadi (on the right of the photo), trained at the club and living in the Croix-Neyrat district of Clermont-Ferrand, is having his best season with 4 new goals in these two games.

The reserve still holds its rank by dominating the R2F championship. The young U18F, second in the regional ranking, are still in the race for the national U19 accession play-offs.

We would like to thank all the partners for providing a quality welcome for this women’s section which trains on the Gabriel Montpied and Camille Leclanché complexes. The city of Clermont-FD, Clermont Auvergne Métropole and our sponsors: Crédit Mutuel, Coudert transport and the Sport Féminin & Co association. Finally, thank you also to all of our educators and volunteers for their unfailing commitment .
