Ariège. Sports brand Chullanka invests in Lavelanet with a new warehouse

The Coume business hotel, in Lavelanet (Ariège) muscle with the inauguration, Friday 1is October 2021 from the new logistics platform from Chullanka, a sports brand.

“Today, we are celebrating the culmination of an important logistics and human project”, underlined Marc Sanchez, the president of the community of communes of the Pays d’Olmes and Mayor of Lavelanet. “Lavelanet and the Pays d’Olmes joined the tribe of Chullis ”, he summed up, referring to the nickname given to the followers of the brand.


Four stores in France

The outcome in question is the desire from last year to launch a “Vast project to consolidate and internalize” company logistics in Lavelanet.

A 2,400 m² extension of the business hotel was necessary to accommodate Chullanka. She now has her stock on site, as well as a counter for the withdrawals of orders on the internet which will satisfy the Ariégois (the brand currently has four stores in France, in Toulouse, Metz, Antibes and Bordeaux). But that’s not all, there is also a showroom.

Until now, the brand had logistics cut in two with a service provider in Lavelanet for its four French stores and another in the Lyon region for the e-commerce part. The Lavelanet site employs ten people.


This “large-scale project makes it possible to consolidate the logistics platform of this territory by hoisting it among the most important platforms in Occitania”, notes Christine Tequi, the president of the Department.

This inauguration took place in the presence of a distinguished guest, Geoffroy Roux de Bezieux, main shareholder, who is none other than the President of Medef, the French employers’ union.

With the FranceRelance plan

The rehabilitation of the Roudière wasteland is very strongly supported by the State which subsidized the project, carried by the community of communes, to the tune of 175,000 euros from the national land planning and development fund and for an amount under investigation of 238 862 euros for the local investment support endowment, took the opportunity to recall the Ariège prefecture. The FranceRelance plan thus provides “exceptional support for the reconquest of wasteland in Olmes country”.

Created in 2007, Chullanka, means “small snow-capped peak” in an Andean dialect. The brand markets sports equipment and clothing especially for hiking, climbing, trail running and skiing.
