An ever greener sport thanks to Ecomanif

In Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, the Ecomanif platform is enjoying growing success. Launched in 2019, it is aimed at event organizers wishing to be part of an eco-responsible approach.

A more ecological and responsible sport? It’s possible. In Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, it is even a reality thanks to the Ecomanif platform. “It is a regional tool that helps to support the actors so that they develop eco-actions in their territories”, explains Solenne Prat, project manager at CROS Auvergne Rhône-Alpes. “The tool was set up by the State services at the regional level, in partnership with the CROS. This tool is dematerialized, via a website launched in 2019. It is aimed at all organizers of outdoor sports events who wish to be part of an eco-responsible approach. »

A charter dedicated to events

On the website https://ecomanif-sport-auvergne-rhone-alpes.fr/, organizers of sporting events can create their account, then fill out a charter covering five actions. The conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity and natural resources, responsible consumption and production, awareness raising and eco-communication, transport and sustainable mobility & energy, the social responsibility of sport and solidarity: so many issues that form a chart. “This charter proposes three levels of requirements, progressive and complementary, namely bronze, silver and gold. The candidate can claim at all levels according to his level of ambition., details Solenne Prat.

A concept in constant development

“On the website, we have also set up a toolbox with practical tools”, continues the CROS Auvergne Rhône-Alpes project manager. “I am thinking of practical sheets, the list of natural parks in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes or the list of managers. When an event carrier benefits from the charter because he has fulfilled a certain number of criteria, he can have access to an eco-event pack. This pack includes reusable cups, markup, signage, and more. » Tools that support an increasingly strong demand from sports players in the area. “In Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, with all the natural sites we have, we are a great playground for outdoor sports. It therefore seemed essential to us to promote these territories and help them in the development of these practices. We continue to improve the tools that are implemented on the platform. The charter gathers great ideas to support the organizers, but it is clear that we continue to work to improve the tool. »
