opening of an investigation for “apologia for terrorism”

The prefecture of Sarthe announced, Wednesday, October 13, the upcoming closure of the Allonnes mosque, near Le Mans. Friday, Delphine Dewailly, prosecutor of the Republic of Le Mans, announced the opening of an investigation conducted under her authority by the regional service of the judicial police.

“I confirm to you that judicial investigations are underway on the facts of apology for terrorism and provocation to commit terrorist acts, likely to have been committed by members or leaders of associations managing the Allonnes mosque”the prosecutor said in a statement.

“According to the elements collected, sermons and the activity of this place of worship, frequented by individuals belonging to or close to the radical Islamist movement, legitimize the use of armed jihad, death as a martyr, the commission of acts of terrorism and the use of violence, hatred and discrimination as well as the establishment of Sharia law ”, had explained the prefecture of Sarthe in its press release of October 13. The place also houses a Koranic school which “Welcomes around 110 children in front of whom armed jihad has been valued and which therefore constitutes a place of indoctrination”, depending on the prefecture.

The Allonnaise Association for the Golden Mean (AAJM), which manages the mosque where about 300 faithful gather, denounced « graves accusations ». ” The minister of the Interior [Gérald Darmanin] is illustrated once again in an approach and a display policy ”, says the association in a press release released Thursday on its Facebook page.

The leaders of the association promise to challenge “Judicially the measures and decisions taken”, regretting “The damage done to the faithful who frequent the mosque and to the Muslim community which is wronged and stigmatized”. “These Allonnaise associations as well as their managers have always worked for good and preached Islam in the middle ground”, supports the AAJM.
