The municipality of Lyon will file a complaint after a water bomb was thrown at the mayor of the 8th arrondissement, Olivier Berzane, the community announced on Friday February 4. This violent action was claimed by the Dalton collective, a collective of Lyonnais rappers known for their provocations against the authorities.

The elected official was on a neighborhood visit with the mayor of Lyon, Grégory Doucet, on Friday morning, when they were targeted by two people, one of whom was dressed as Dalton, the famous comic book characters. Lucky Luke. Only the mayor of the 8th arrondissement was affected. Grégory Doucet denounced on Twitter a “unacceptable physical assault” and an “attempt to intimidate” against an elected official. Such a gesture “damaged the values ​​of the Republic, those who serve it”, added the town hall in a press release.

The collective of rappers posted a video on their Instagram account, where a person wearing the Dalton’s yellow and black striped clothing shows off a balloon inflated with water, and declares himself “ready to go see the mayor”.

The collective, which is said “back” after a period of inaction, claims to be protesting against the conditions of detention of one of its members, imprisoned for having participated in urban rodeos. The Daltons, who are accustomed to filming their acts, did not broadcast an image of the water bomb throwing, claiming “a wrong move”. On December 22, two Daltons aged 18 and 23 were convicted of mortar fire. Three others had been sentenced at the end of November for a motorized rodeo in the Lyon area.
