TELEVISION – You will have something to occupy your evenings from February. TF1 and M6 announced this Tuesday, January 25 the broadcast dates of their flagship programs: Top Chef, Beijing Express, Love is in the meadow and The Voice. And all start next month.
Starting with Beijing Express, which will be broadcast on M6 from February 10, every Thursday at the start of the evening, followed by The Voice, on Saturday evening on TF1, from February 12. For Valentine’s Day, February 14, M6 will start broadcasting the portraits of farmers from the 2022 edition of Love is in the meadow, from 9:10 p.m. Finally, the first episode of the thirteenth season of Top Chef will be on the air from Wednesday February 16.
New rules come into play
The first show to return to the small screen is therefore the Beijing Express adventure. The first episode “In the Land of the Golden Eagle” will be broadcast on Thursday February 10 at 9:10 p.m. on M6. And this fifteenth season of the game promises to be spectacular. The eight pairs selected from the 90,000 applications received by the production will begin their journey in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, then cross Uzbekistan and Jordan, before playing in the grand final in Dubai.
This year, in addition to the traditional red and black flags, a new rule is entering the game: the “Express Pass”. During the first stage, one of the pairs will have the chance to recover this sesame which will allow him to escape the final duel.
Because, at each end of the stage, the team that arrived last chooses among the other pairs the one it wishes to face in a final sprint. This race must make it possible to determine which team remains in the game. The duo which has the “Express Pass” can decide to play it before the final choice of the team which arrived last in the stage. Unless he came last, or first – in which case both adventurers are immune. The “Express Pass” can only be played once, and will not be passed on to another team during the game.
TF1 also decided to change some rules for the new season of The Voice, which will be broadcast from February 12 at 9:10 p.m. So finished the test of knockouts, which normally came after the battles. To replace them, a new event is entering the singing competition: the “super cross battles”.
A name that calls out, but a fairly simple principle since it is ultimately a second round of cross battles. The principle is essentially the same as for the battles, except that this time the singers are not part of the same team. Each coach chooses who he wants to send to vocally confront a talent from an opposing team, and it is the public who decides. The winners of the cross battles will compete in the super cross battles, the rules of which are the same.
New coaches to support candidates
But the news does not stop there for TF1. In addition to the four usual coaches (Florent Pagny, Amel Bent, Vianney and Marc Lavoine), a fifth artist is entering the jury: Nolwenn Leroy. The singer will not, however, constitute a new team. She will be able to select four talents from those who did not convince the jury during their blind auditions. Among these four candidates, only two will be able to return to the game at the end of the battles test, if one of the four coaches chooses him or her in his team.
M6 also decided to shake up the composition of its jury for the new season of Top Chef, which will be broadcast from Wednesday, February 16 at 9:10 p.m. After the surprise departure of Michel Sarran, the jury for this 13th season will be made up of Héléne Darroze, Philippe Etchebest, Paul Pairet and the “little” new Glenn Viel.
The fifteen cooks will compete in “destabilizing, surprising and completely offbeat events”, promises host Stéphane Rotenberg. But “it’s not because we look for the avant-garde of the kitchen, that it defines the whole season”, completed Paul Pairet during the press conference to present this new season. “Not everything will be disconnected from everyday cooking”. A clever mix between “the craziest challenges” and “benchmark events” to satisfy all taste buds.
And M6 will not be outdone for the second month of the year. From February 14, and the following Monday, the 21st, the channel will broadcast the portraits of the 9 men and 4 women, aged 24 to 72, who will be looking for love in the 17th season of Love is in the meadow.
Here too, some surprises await viewers: a father and his daughter will try to find their soul mate thanks to the show, reports TéléLoisirs. Fans of the show will also find a familiar face since Thierry, who had participated in season 10 of the show in 2015, but whose love affair with Annick had not worked, will return to the program. .
