the Constitutional Council will make its decision on Friday, January 21 on the bill transforming the health pass into a vaccination pass. The Elders of the rue de Montpensier were seized by 60 deputies from all sides led by the group La France insoumise, and by about sixty socialist senators. The scope of the two referrals is however different, the first being opposed to the vaccination pass, the second considering that a “a number of safeguards” must be brought to “supervise it scrupulously”.

Denouncing a further step in a “liberal, anti-social and anti-democratic logic, the CGT also sent an anti-vaccination pass argument to the Constitutional Council. The strategy remains the same as for the health pass: making people feel guilty, stigmatizing and punishing individuals, as evidenced by Emmanuel Macron’s recent contemptuous remarks for all fellow citizens..

The bill strengthening the tools for managing the health crisis and modifying the Public Health Code was adopted on Sunday by Parliament after two weeks of heated debate. On another legislative file, the Constitutional Council also announced that it would render its decision on the bill on Thursday evening. “Criminal Accountability and Homeland Security” which Parliament had definitively adopted on 16 December.

Guest of CNews, Tuesday morning, government spokesperson Gabriel Attal spoke of the entry into force of the vaccine pass “probably by the end of the week”, following the decision of the Constitutional Council.
