Police officers attacked with sabers in Cherbourg: “terrorist motivation” dismissed by the prosecutor

Two policewomen were injured in the face, this Thursday, December 2 at around 3:30 p.m., by a 36-year-old man armed with a saber.

As we indicated in the previous article, it came from vtake a car to Cherbourg, in the sector of Malakoff.

Theft under the threat of a saber

The prosecution has unveiled the conditions of the theft of the Citroën C3: the 30-year-old threatened the driver with a Japanese sword, also known as the katana.

the public prosecutor in Cherbourg, Yves Le Clair, provided some details to AFP.

“A police patrol was passing just then. He threw himself at the police officers with a saber and wounded them in the face.”

The prosecutor also assured that the injuries suffered by the two police officers, led to Pasteur Hospital in Cherbourg, were “superficial”.

Hit three times

The third patrol policeman, who shot the suspect from inside the car, got it right hit three times. Aware of the arrival of help, the suspect was evacuated by helicopter to Caen hospital.

Finally, Yves Le Clair has ruled out any “terrorist motivation”.
