OL-Lorient: the probable lines

In parallel with PSG-Montpellier, OL welcomes Lorient this Saturday evening (9:00 p.m.) at Groupama Stadium on behalf of the eighth day of Ligue 1. For this match against the Breton club, Peter Bosz, the coach of the Rhone club, will be deprived of Moussa Dembélé, Tino Kadewere, Malo Gusto and Jeff Reine-Adélaïde, all injured.

According to L’Équipe, OL will appear in 4-2-3-1 with Anthony Lopes in the cages, protected by a four-player defense made up of Léo Dubois, Jérôme Boateng, Sinaly Diomandé and Emerson, from right to left. In the midfield, Bruno Guimaraes and Maxence Caqueret will form the double-pivot while Houssem Aouar will be positioned a notch higher, as playmaker. On the wings, Lucas Paqueta, on the right, and Karl Toko Ekambi, on left, will try to serve Islam Slimani, positioned at the forefront of the Lyon attack.

OL’s probable line-up according to L’Équipe : Lopes – Dubois, Boateng, Diomandé, Emerson – Guimaraes, Caqueret – Paqueta, Aouar, Toko Ekambi – Slimani

According to Le Progrès, it will be more Paqueta as playmaker with Xherdan Shaqiri and Toko Ekambi on the wings, thus relegating Aouar to the substitutes’ bench. In central defense, the regional daily instead relies on Jason Denayer to support Boateng.

For its part, Lorient made an interesting start to the season (3 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss) and remains on a convincing success against Nice (1-0) last Wednesday. For this trip to the Rhône, Christophe Pélissier, the Merlus coach, will have to compose without Moritz Jenz, suspended, while Adrian Grbic is injured. Jérémy Morel, who worked for OL from 2015 to 2019, is in the recovery phase and will therefore not find his former club.

According to L’Équipe, Lorient will appear in 5-3-2 with Paul Nardi in the cages, protected by a five-player defense made up of Igor Silva, Houboulang Mendes, Julien Laporte, Thomas Fontaine and Vincent Le Goff, from the right to left. In the midfield, Laurent Abergel, Fabien Lemoine and Thomas Monconduit are expected. Also according to the sports daily, the offensive duo will be made up of Terem Moffi and Armand Laurienté.
