Montauban. Questioned by anti-terrorism, the town hall employee planned violent actions

Their exchanges would have been spotted on the Telegram encrypted messaging. The services of the DGSI Tarn-et-Garonne and Haute-Garonne (Directorate General for Internal Security) arrested two men on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, one in Montauban , the other in Gironde. Belonging to the ultra-right movement, they are believed to have instigated violent actions.

Weapons and explosives seized in search

During their search, the police seized dozens of weapons as well as material entering the explosives composition, according to’AFP.


The man arrested in the Tarn-et-Garonne is employee at the town hall of Montauban. He is old 46 years. “He’s a survivalist, convinced that the great replacement of white Europe has begun. He collects weapons and was obviously trying to get hold of them, ”indicates a source at Toulouse news. The second was arrested in Gironde. 60 years old, he would have already been convicted of murder.

Start a race war?

Considered as “white supremacists”, “active on social networks” these two men would have wanted ” to provoke a racial war ”, from a source close to the investigation.

the anti-terrorism prosecution took up the matter. Like drug cases, terrorism custody can stretch up to 96 hours.
