launch of the post-baccalaureate orientation phase

With the opening on Tuesday December 21 of the Parcoursup.fr 2022 site, the orientation phase for the terminales has been launched. This first phase is mainly an observation phase, which allows all students in the last year of high school to familiarize themselves with its organization and the functioning of its procedure.

According to the orientation site, 19,500 training courses are offered for this 2022 promotion. For each training course, a presentation sheet details the practical information on the establishment, the courses offered, the skills and knowledge expected, advice for high school students, the criteria for examining applications, possibilities for further studies, professional opportunities and any training costs. Similar training is also offered to broaden the choices.

From January 20, students will have to start registering and making their wishes until March 29. On April 7, the application files for the various training courses must be closed. On June 2, the admission phase will then begin with the responses from the training courses which will end in mid-July.

The private guidance counselor, founder of the Tonavenir network, Sophie Laborde-Balen, believes on Franceinfo that this « phase d’observation » is “Very important” because it allows you to find a lot of information on post-baccalaureate training.

“It is not a phase to register the pupil, but the observation phase is already very interesting”, she explains. “You can find a lot of things there (…), open days, the status of the school, whether it is a public or private training under contract or private outside contract, registration fees, tuition fees but also the percentage of students admitted last year compared to the students who applied. “
