CCTV cameras will be installed at Mont Valérien from the start of 2022, franceinfo learned Monday, December 13 from the director of the High Places of Memory in Ile-de-France and site manager, while an anti tag – health pass was discovered overnight from Sunday to Monday at the Memorial.
“It is absolute certainty”, announced to franceinfo Jean-Baptiste Romain, who adds that the idea of installing CCTV cameras does not date from this degradation. “The presence of cameras will be a significant asset for the protection of the Memorial”, he explains, while no camera was present on the scene for the moment.
“This file will unfortunately be much easier to assemble after these degradations than it was yesterday”, continues Jean-Baptiste Romain. The Hauts-de-Seine prefecture also contacted the manager of Mont Valérien on Monday, December 13 to discuss this installation.
A meeting with the State services on this subject will take place at the end of December or the beginning of January.
