Covid-19 report: 158 deaths in the last 24 hours, the incidence rate explodes in Occitania

Hospital pressure is increasing a little while 63,405 new cases have been identified in 24 hours.

Hospital pressure is increasing in the country on Tuesday, December 14, with 14,819 Covid-19 patients treated, while they were only 12,714 seven days ago.

In critical care services, there are 2,792 Covid patients, a figure up 40 people compared to the previous day. They were only 2351 a week earlier.

In addition, 158 deaths have been recorded by the health authorities in the past 24 hours. In total, 120,832 people have died from Covid-19 in France since the start of the epidemic. Over the last week, there are around 131 deaths per day due to the coronavirus, a figure that had not been reached since May 23.

Public Health France also counts 63,405 new cases of Covid this Tuesday, and at least 170 cases of the Omicron variant.

The results in Occitania

In the regions, hospitalizations are also up by 107 people in 4 days, for a total of 1,324 patients hospitalized as a result of the Covid. In critical care services, they are currently 275, 18 more than on Friday.

Note that 40 additional deaths are recorded by the ARS Occitanie in 4 days, for a total of 5,473 deaths in hospitals in the region since the start of the epidemic.

Finally, the number of new cases of Covid continues to increase in Occitania: the incidence rate fell in 7 days from 488.7 to 581.7 on a regional average on Tuesday. “This is a sign of viral circulation which has reached extremely high levels in most of the departments of the region”, according to the ARS, which adds that “the resuscitation services are already occupied at 93% of their capacities in the look at all the pathologies taken care of during this winter period “.
