Two stars of the “Twilight” films have said they are ready to reprise their roles if an adaptation of the latest novel in the saga, “Midnight Sun” is made. This should please fans of the Cullen family!
Midnight Sun: what is this new chapter of Twilight?
In 2005, the world discovered the story of Bella Swan in the first volume of Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Baptized Fascination, he told how Bella, a young high school student fresh from the small town of Forks, fell in love with Edward Cullen, an attractive vampire.
Fifteen years after telling this story from Bella’s point of view, Stephenie Meyer posted the same but from Edward’s point of view in the novel. Midnight Sun. Released in August 2020 but present in the author’s drawers for many years, the novel lifts the veil on the many mysteries surrounding Edward’s existence, and especially his decisive meeting with Bella.
Soon the film? Two actors are already up
The saga Twilight has been brought to the screen five times, between 2008 and 2012, and was very successful. Indeed, the five games have grossed more than three billion dollars at the box office. The last movie, Twilight, Chapter 5: Revelation, Part 2, is the biggest success of the saga with 800 million dollars. In the casting, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson played Bella and Edward. Obviously, with a new novel released, the question of a new film is legitimate. Especially when you know the financial potential of such a business.
If Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have long since turned the page, two other members of the Cullen family would be ready to return. Indeed, Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene, the cast of Emmett and Alice, said at a recent convention (via The Wrap) that they would love to reprise their roles.
Kellan Lutz, in particular, was very enthusiastic:
I love the novel. I would love so much for the film to be made. Emmett has some super funny lines in it. It’s awesome.
Ashley Greene then asked Kellan Lutz if she could join him on the casting.
This is not the first time this year that the two actors have declared their love for the saga Twilight. Indeed, last October, they paid tribute to a cult scene from the first film: the baseball game.
At present, no film Midnight Sun has not been announced.
