A lively Disney musical adventure, “Encanto” follows the story of a young girl’s magical family.

“It’s about this amazing family, the Madrigals, who live in the mountains of Columbia and everyone in the family has these special powers except Mirabel,” said Erik Davis, editor of Fandango, at Fox News. “But soon, they realize that Mirabel might hold the key to protecting this power. “

The film stars Stephanie Beatriz, a “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” alumna, and the story was developed by “Hamilton” scribe Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also wrote the original music for the film.

” Humans “

Based on the one-act play of the same name, “The Humans” follows a fractured family during their tense Thanksgiving celebration in New York City.

“It’s about three generations of family coming together in a cramped apartment in New York City’s Chinatown to celebrate Thanksgiving,” Davis said. “The film is covered in nuances… deeply haunting and ultimately very moving. “

Written and directed by Tony winner Stephen Karam, who also wrote the original play, “The Humans” features a small but powerful cast, including a rare dramatic turn for comedian Amy Schumer.

“Really fantastic together, but Lady Gaga and Jared Leto have the most transformative performances in this movie,” Davis said. Gaga plays Reggiani while Leto plays Paolo Gucci, another member of the famous family.

“It’s mostly about the marriage between Maurizio Gucci and Patrizia Reggiani, with all its ups and downs, suspicious betrayal and ultimately murder,” Davis explained.
