The DC Universe Fan Film Association (ex-DC Shorts) began filming midweek for its sixth fan-film, “Wonder Woman 1944” in Alençon, at the Valframbert aerodrome. On Friday, September 24, 2021, she continued her shots in the area of Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, on Utah beach or an American encampment has been replenished. With lots of military vehicles and uniforms.
All enthusiasts
In this short film which will also use special effects, Wonder Woman (played by Louise Molinaro) is at the heart of the conflict of WWII.
The heroes land a few days after June 6, 1944 to come to the aid of American soldiers trapped by the Germans in a town near the beaches. We chose the Ravalet castle to play combat scenes with German soldiers this Saturday. Sunday we will be in a ruin near Lestre.
The association brings together around thirty professional technicians in the cinema or audiovisual industry, based in France and abroad (Belgium, Canada in particular). All driven by the same passion for Comics. They had already in the past made 5 other films featuring other characters like Wild Cat, Joker, Batman ou encore Superman.

We are all volunteers. Many of us have taken vacations, days off, or even refused certain projects in order to be able to come to Normandy and finalize our project. There is a great team spirit. A real story of friendship.
Reenactors as extras
No room is left for improvisation, everything is precise. But the hardest part is taming the elements, or rather adapting to the weather.
This morning, we had a cloud band during the first scenes. This afternoon, the sun is shining brightly. We take advantage of all the cloudy passages to be connected. Otherwise the scenes are good to redo.

Reconstruction associations have agreed to lend their support to this project, which was carried out in part thanks to a Kickstarter campaign launched in 2020 which raised € 7,580 out of the 3,300 of the initial objective.

Preview?
The 35-minute film is slated to be shown online.
There will be two more filming sessions before we move on to editing the film, which is slated for release in spring 2023. We have authorization from Warner to use the characters under license, as long as we do not make a profit. We have a deal. So the film will be shown on the Internet. We are considering a preview. Why not in the Cotentin?
To the best of my mind …
