This film mainly describes the Nuremberg Congress of the Nazi Party of 1934 and was “commissioned by the Führer”, its credits indicate.

“It’s an important victory, but there are still a number of clearly hate Nazi films on sale,” he wrote.

Leni Riefenstahl’s films played an important role in Nazi propaganda, which was instrumental in the rise to power of the Nazis.

Among the other films still on sale: “The Eternal Jew”, or “The Rothschilds” (the complete list is available on the Simon Wiesenthal center site). These films are made available on Prime Video without disclaimer or historical commentary.

“The Eternal Jew” was commissioned by Joseph Goebbels, Minister of Propaganda of Nazi Germany. He portrays the Jews as a group wandering from land to land, and compares them to rats.

“The Rothschilds”, released in 1940, describes the prosperity of the famous Jewish family in a negative light, using all anti-Semitic stereotypes. Like all Nazi propaganda films, it was completely banned from showing after the war.

In his letter, Abraham Cooper wrote, among other things, “Amazon appears to be a hotbed of Nazi propaganda. Literal, original and pure Nazi propaganda that was produced under the Third Reich. In 2021, it is the overwhelming consensus in the media and academia that original hateful content, whether My fight or “The Triumph of the Will”, should never be presented without adequate preparatory context and, if done correctly, never presented continuously or in its entirety (with or without commentary to break up the content so as not to satisfy the nefarious intentions of the war criminal propagandists). ”

“These films should be viewed – if appropriate – in a history class, where educators can expose the lies of Nazi Germany, its violent racist ideology and its genocidal hatred of the Jewish people. These films helped to create and maintain the hatred of Jews which directly led to the ‘Final Solution of the Jewish Question’ and the mass murder of six million innocent Jews during World War II, ”he said. added.

“January 20 will mark the 80th anniversary of the day when fifteen ministers of state in the German government, including eight doctors and sons of the clergy, voted unanimously to assassinate all Jews within the reach of the Nazi Third Reich. In addition, January 27 will mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day, with official ceremonies at the United Nations and Auschwitz, ”added Rabbi Cooper. He thus urged Bezos to “take advantage of these two important dates this month to announce that these Nazi propaganda films, used to help pave the way for the Holocaust, will no longer be marketed by Amazon”.

“You have understood the power of the Internet better than anyone. Please do what’s right. Please do your part to fight anti-Semitism and bigotry, ”the rabbi concluded.
