No Way Home reveal the presence of an enemy cut from the film

Spider-Man : No Way Home could have welcomed another villain from the Marvel universe, who has already appeared in an MCU film.

Whether we like it or not Spider-Man : No Way Home, strong is to note that the film found its public – and it is saying little considering the stratospheric success of film. This success can obviously be explained by many factors, but the first remains the excitement created around the return of many characters already appeared in the various adaptations of the spider-man to the cinema – to the point that even Sam Raimi was moved by it.

Indeed, we find in Jon Watts’ film, on the bad side, the Green Goblin by Willem Dafoe, Doctor Octopus by Alfred Molina, the Sandman by Thomas Haden Church, the Lizard by Rhys Ifans and Electro by Jamie Foxx. . Corn Collider recently released concept art that proves that this reunion – already bloated with little or no exploited characters – could have been enriched with an additional antagonist.

The concept art below, produced by digital artist Andrew Reeder – who has previously worked for Marvel, notably on Avengers : Infinity War – thus reveals that Mysterio could have had a bigger place in Spider-Man : No Way Home than that of the starting point of the plot. Indeed, after his death at the end of Far from Home, the character played by Jake Gyllenhaal was to have very little chance of appearing in the sequel to the 2019 film.

But villainous Quentin Beck could have benefit from the scriptwriting magic of Hollywood, or rather that of Doctor Strange who could have brought him, too, from another universe in a flick of the wrist. It should also be noted that the concept art reveals that a possible confrontation between Mysterio and Doctor Strange could have taken place alongside the Statue of Liberty, the place where the climax of the film takes place.

This new appearance of this actor who has become a diabolical arachnophobic villain could have made the fans even more playful by completing the team of five antagonists of the film with a new member, thus materializing for the first time in the cinema the famous Sinister Six. This troupe – which has evolved a lot over the comics – is made up of terrible enemies of Spider-Man who team up to, naturally, reduce the superhero to ashes.

If a number of film adaptation projects around the team have shot in Hollywood, not to mention a possible iteration in the abortive sequels to the films The Amazing Spider-Man, the Sinister Six have yet to appear in action on the big screen. And so it’s not Spider-Man : No Way Home who will have given us this pleasure, and it would be difficult to blame him as the feature film with Tom Holland is already struggling to get by with five bad guys.

But who knows, maybe the leaders of the MCU have a little surprise in store for us by keeping us warm with the return of Mysterio or other antagonists in the universe. The next film in the universe will be released in our French theaters on May 4 and it will be Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
