After the phenomenal success of the first season at the end of 2020, The Bridgertons Chronicle is set to return to Netflix in 2022 with a second season centered around the character of Anthony Bridgerton.

So we expect new episodes full of way too sexy people, steamy scenes and declarations of love in the moonlight, all in the vein of what has made the series so successful. We should also discover the underside of the revelation of the identity of Lady Whistledown, which promises to add a good dose of drama within the English high society of the series.

The Sandman

Adapted from Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the King of Dreams, as he sets out to right the mistakes he has made during his long existence.

CNET France’s opinion

With The Witcher and other such original series, Netflix has demonstrated its mastery of the fantastic and Neil Gaiman fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival on the platform of The Sandman. Between its casting that makes you want (Gwendoline Christie in Lucifer, Charles Dance, Stephen Fry …) and a very intriguing first teaser, this adaptation of a work that has not managed to see the light of day in the cinema should attract a lot of curious on Netflix.

Mike Flanagan’s series are becoming unmissable events on Netflix for horror fans. What movies are expected on Netflix in 2022?

Adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates bestseller, Blonde offers a rereading of the personal life of Marilyn Monroe. This imaginary biopic of the actress and sex symbol of the 1950s and 1960s is told through the prism of a society obsessed with celebrity.

CNET France’s opinion

With Ana de Armas in the role of the famous actress, Blonde think outside the box of the biopic on Marilyn Monroe to present this character to moviegoers in a different light. Originally scheduled for the end of 2021, the release of Andrew Dominik’s film has been postponed to 2022 due to artistic differences between the director and Netflix regarding sex scenes deemed too shocking. What to intrigue the spectators for the arrival of this feature film in development for 10 years.

The Gray Man

A former CIA agent turned hitman who only accepts to eliminate targets he considers criminals himself becomes targeted by all kinds of organizations, including his former employer.

CNET France’s opinion

Starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans and directed by the Russo Brothers (to whom we owe the last two films Avengers), The Gray Man has all the cards in hand to be an effective and thrilling thriller. This film, in the works for many years, needed Netflix to finally see the light of day. Even if no precise date has been announced, action and spy film aficionados have been waiting for him, especially since the announcement of his nice cast which also includes Ana de Armas, Billy Bob Thornton and Regé. -Jean Page.

Adapted from the eponymous novel by Jane Austin, Persuasion tells the story of Anne Elliot, a modern and nonconformist woman, who sees a man returning to her life whose advances she had refused and must choose between leaving the past behind or giving him a new chance.

CNET France’s opinion

The spectators fond of adaptation of Jane Austen will undoubtedly find their account in this film directed by Dakota Johnson, Henry Golding and Cosmo Jarvis. If little has been revealed about Carrie Cracknell’s film, the first images to appear on the net suggest a feature film with costumes and sets that will have nothing to envy to other adaptations of the work of the famous British novelist .

This new version of Pinocchio takes place in the midst of the rise of fascism in Mussolini’s Italy. A story of love and disobedience, this animated feature film stages the struggle of his hero to comply with his father’s demands.

The opinion of CNET

The prospect of seeing what Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water, Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy) will make the history of Pinocchio is enough to make salivate film lovers keen on the work of this filmmaker, especially since they have been waiting for this adaptation for almost 10 years. Resurrected by Netflix, this animated film directed by Del Toro and Mark Gustafson should be a visual slap and dust off the tale that everyone knows thanks in particular to its Disney version.

Far from the Periphery

The sequel the other side of the ring-road produced by David Charhon in which Omar Sy and Laurent Lafitte played Ousmane Diakité, police officer of the financial section of Bobigny, and François Monge, captain of the Paris criminal police.

CNET France’s opinion

Police comedy is still a formula that works in France and Omar Sy finds for this film the director Louis Leterrier, with whom he worked on the Netflix series. Lupin. While the first part of the adventures of Ousmane and François had met with great success in theaters when it was released in 2012, there is no doubt that this new buddy movie will also attract fans of the genre on Netflix.
