Kapten & Son watch: a unisex treasure
Minimalist design, timeless style, affordable prices: Kapten & Son ticks all the boxes for the trendy accessories brand. And it works, since, in just a few years, it has become essential on the stylewatch cheap, alongside heavyweights like Daniel Wellington, Ice Watch, Briston…
Founded by three German students in 2014, Kapten & Son also offers bags, glasses, jewelry, but it is its watches that are a hit in France. And the newcomer should only confirm this success: called Trésor, this unisex watch sports a rectangular case in gold or silver steel measuring 26 x 34mm. The dial, very minimalist in appearance, catches the eye with its delicate reflections, its stick indexes and its only two Roman numerals (VI and XII).
Driven by a Ronda movement, Kapten & Son’s new creation is priced at €199.90 in jewelry and watch stores, on the brand’s website and e-shops like AboutYou.
100 films of the 2010s, the essential Taschen book for film lovers
Beautiful books, at Taschen, we know. The famous publishing house often publishes richly illustrated works on the fields of art, architecture, design, photography… And every 10 years, it fixes a regular meeting for cinema lovers, with a book listing the 100 best films of the past decade.
If Avatar had had the honors of the 2000s, it is indeed the Joker camped by Joaquin Phoenix that we recognize on the cover of the 100 films of the 2010s. Almost obvious as Todd Philips’ feature film is one of the most highlights of recent years.
As always, Jürgen Müller and his team of authors know how to show a great diversity, evoking Mad Max Fury Road as well as Moonlight, Blackkklansman or Moi Tonya.
With its 736 pages, this book is therefore a must have for any self-respecting cinephile. Its price: 40 euros, at all good booksellers of course (from February 23, 2022)!
Pale Blue: revolution in the rechargeable battery market
OK, put like that, talking about rechargeable batteries doesn’t sound very glamorous. Still, the Pale Blue innovation is definitely worth talking about. Behind this name hides an American brand founded in 2019 by 3 entrepreneurs. Its specialty: revolutionary rechargeable batteries, combining technology, performance and durability.
What makes Pale Blue batteries different from their traditional competitors? They do not need an adapter to recharge them but a simple micro-USB cable… like the one on your smartphone! More environmentally friendly, this new generation of lithium-ion polymer batteries recharges 5 times faster than conventional accumulators (barely 1h30 for the AAA batteries tested) while providing higher power.
USB rechargeable up to 1000 times (without losing their efficiency according to the manufacturer), they offer an excellent lifespan. They are found in the most common formats: LR03 (AAA) LR6 (AA), LR14, LR20 and 6LR61 (9V). And if the starting price is a little more expensive (from €29.99 on Amazon, Boulanger, Greenweez, Au Vieux Campeur…), the Pale Blue batteries seem to pay for themselves quite quickly!
