Expected in theaters in less than 4 months, Doctor Strange 2 could still be modified if we are to believe recent statements by its director, Sam Raimi.
While long reshoots have already taken place at the end of last year for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the next Marvel might not be finished yet! In fact, everything will depend on its reception during the usual test screenings offered by film studios. This was revealed by the director of the film, Sam Raimi, to Variety.
“I would like to know the answer to this question“, he replied when asked if the feature film was finished. And to clarify: “I think we’re done, but we just put it all together. We’re just starting to test the film and we’ll see if there’s anything that needs reshooting.“
If anything is unclear or if I can make another improvement in the little time I have left, I will. One thing I know from Team Marvel is that they won’t stop. They will keep pushing until it is as close to perfect as possible.
Benedict Cumberbatch and his partners could therefore soon return to the paths of the sets if the test screenings show that Doctor Strange 2 could be further improved. A process far from unusual at Marvel, which often adjusts its productions until the last moment.
Remember that, according to rumors, the first reshoots had already made it possible to add cameos to the feature film, in order to surf on the unprecedented success of Spider-Man: No Way Home. It is even rumored that Tobey Maguire could be in the game again, and the name of Tom Cruise (in the role of Iron Man!) has also recently been mentioned.
Possibilities obviously offered by the multiverse, which will be at the center of this Doctor Strange 2, whose release date is still set for May 4, 2022.
