The company collaborates with large film production studios that bring experience and talent that is not necessarily present at Apple Studios. Apple x Skydance Media
Created in 2006 by David Ellison, Skydance Media quickly acquired a international reputation with his participation in big budget productions like World War Z, Terminator Genisys, Six Underground, The Tomorrow War, Jack Reacher… Today, Skydance Media continues to work on Hollywood films that will hit the big screen soon, but the company has also other ambitions.
After collaborating with Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, the American production company looks to the future with Apple Studios for the creation of films, a new type of partnership after having produced series for the Apple TV+ catalogue.
A new agreement has just been signed between Apple and Skydance Media, which provides for the creation and shooting of several films over the coming years. If we don’t know exactly what the two companies have in store for us, we do know that two movies are in preperation and could be released in 2022 or 2023:
- Ghosted : directed by Dexter Fletcher with main actors Chris Evans and Ana de Armas.
- The Greatester Beer Run Ever : directed by Peter Farrelly with main actors Russel Crowe and Zac Efron.
A little less than a year ago, we learned that Apple was signing an agreement with Skydance Animation for the production of several contents intended for children.
The Californian giant seems very interested in the work of the various Skydance subsidiaries, it is possible that other contracts will be announced in the near future for Apple TV+.
