AB Video announces Blu-ray box set with 20 Dragon Ball films

The year 2022 promises to be Dragon Ball! The franchise, started in 1984 by Akira Toriyama, seems to have good plans for this new year! Something to delight the fans!

On the occasion of Jump Festa last December, the next of the famous franchise, Dragon Ball Super : Super Hero, has had its release date in Japanese theaters unveiled. Since then, many news have been published on social networks. However, it was a few days ago that fans of the saga discovered that they would soon be able to complete their collection. Dragon Ball. Indeed, the editor AB Video announced to go out a Blu-ray box set containing 20 Dragon Ball films. Scheduled for March 30, the box set will be available exclusively on Blu ray and should contain films from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT.

2022: The Year of Dragon Ball

As said before, the franchise Dragon Ball debuted in 1984. Pre-published in the famous Weekly Shonen Jump, Akira Toriyama’s work quickly found a loyal following. The original story had two sequels: Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super. On their side, Dragon Ball GT and Dagon Ball Z Kai are respectively an original anime forming the alternate sequel to Dragon Ball Z and the remake realizes in 2009 of Dragon Ball Z. The franchise has also been the source of inspiration for many merchandise such as figurines, board games, video games or even the trading card collection.

2022 is shaping up to be a good year for the franchise. Indeed, the new film Dragon Ball Super : Super Hero does not appear to be, according to the latest information recently released, the only planned project. From what we know, Akio Iyoku, executive producer of the film and TV series Dragon Ball Super, announced that another surprise should arrive in the course of the year 2022. The announcement ofAB Video is therefore an additional surprise for French fans! The box set should therefore contain 20 films from the franchise. Dragon Ball. Fans will therefore be able to (re) discover The Legend of Shenron, (1986), The demon’s castle (1987), The mystical adventure (1988), The Red Ribbon Army (1996) from the original story Dragon Ball. The set will also contain films by Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. As a reminder, Dragon Ball Super is still being published by the publisher Glénat.
