a team of thunder, with around thirty volunteers, on which Laurent Le Floc’h will still be able to count this weekend. Its paratennis section, affiliated with the Lorient Tennis-club (LTC), is organizing its 4e open from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 October 2021 in a Kerolay enclosure refitted for the occasion. The budget amounts to 16,000 € thanks to the involvement of local authorities, but also of partners, foremost among which is the Larmor-Plage company Alleza medical health, specializing in medical equipment and wheelchairs, which gives its name. at the tournament.
There will be four men’s draws of eight players and, this will be a first in Brittany, a women’s draw with eight participants., specifies the president of a section which, in September 2020, left Plœmeur for Lorient.
This transfer allowed us to grow our tournament, going from 24 to 40 players, and to expand our section, which today has eleven members.
At the same time, the section has planned two highlights for schoolchildren: Thursday afternoon, students from the neighboring Anita-Conti college will discuss with members of the section and, if they wish, will take their seats in armchairs; Friday morning, two classes from the Merville school will attend a game.

This opening, underlines Laurent Le Floc’h, aims
to change the view of schoolchildren and college students on disability, that they realize that we can have fun in a wheelchair while it can sometimes convey
a negative feeling of failure or illness. Demonstrate, too, that it is
more than an everyday object but a performance tool, a sports machine. Knowing that
paratennis is visually impressive: it matches immediately !
4e open Alleza medical health Friday 8 and Saturday 9 October, from 9 am to 6 pm, at the Lorient Tennis-club in Kerolay; finals Sunday 10, at 11 a.m. Free entry with sanitary pass.
