Paris is chic! Fashion Week is back

FOCUS LUXE – Forbes shares with you every Tuesday a news, a favorite, an indiscretion that agitates the luxury / lifestyle planet.

THE FOCUS OF THE DAY REVIVAL FASHION WEEK | Maintain, cancel, digitize? Today opens the Parisian Men’s Fashion Week fall/winter 2022-2023. From January 18 to 23, the capital of luxury will blow a wind of glamor and creativity around men’s fashion, before moving on to the Haute Couture fashion shows from January 24 to 27. For its bi-annual high mass, Paris Fashion Week has once again kept the suspense going. The difficulty of organizing physical parades in the midst of the resurgence of the epidemic once again came to the discussion table of the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion. A few days ago, Giorgio Armani threw a chill by taking the decision to cancel its ready-to-wear shows in Milan and haute couture in Paris. A decision linked to the health degradation of which Pascal Morand, the executive president of the French Federation, took note: “It is their choice”, he launched.

On the 76 houses listed in the official men’s ready-to-wear calendar, 17 organize physical parades compared to six in June; nevertheless, some brands recognize that the evolution of the health situation could still make them change their minds… Highly anticipated, the Maison Louis Vuitton which schedules two parades on Thursday for the latest collection of the late Virgil Abloh, disappeared last November.

The good news comes to us from Pierre Cardin whose heirs announce that they want to relaunch the brand. A tribute parade between heritage and surprises will be held on January 28.
