HUBER TECHNOLOGY adapts its dehydration offer to the needs of communities

« We have always been one step ahead of screw press dewatering technology and our machines are recognized for their performance in terms of dryness, energy efficiency and ease of operation. Reputed to be excellent value for money, the Q-PRESS®HUBER has enabled us to implement technology in the region since 2012 and to gradually position ourselves in biological and industrial sludge. Thus, we will soon have 200 references in operation in France and 2,000 units worldwide. In the Covid-19 context, in order to offer a rapid response to small communities wishing to dehydrate their sludge for hygienic treatment, we have declined an adaptive and multi-sector turnkey solution integrating the latest generations of the Q-PRESS®HUBER screw press ».


Since 2011, HUBER TECHNOLOGY has acquired a mobile dehydration solution in order to publicize the technology and demonstrate its effectiveness. In this logic, several mobile units were sold to communities or to dehydration companies in the years that followed, in parallel with the constant increase in the installations of fixed dehydration workshops.


The Q-PRESS® 280 and Q-PRESS® 440.2 mobile units can be easily transported on a trailer chassis or on a container truck and are fully autonomous (no need for a generator, a simple 15 kW connection on site is sufficient). Each mobile unit has all the peripherals necessary for handling and pre-conditioning the sludge, including: a liquid sludge pump, an automatic polymer preparation, a dewatered sludge conveying system in the form of a retractable screw or a booster pump . The assembly is controlled automatically, by a control cabinet fitted on the front with a color touch screen allowing easy operation with visualization of faults and adjustment of operating parameters.

The small unit Q-PRESS® 280 was entirely designed to make it easily transportable with a van (trailer The challenge was to combine the load balancing of the equipment on the trailer, the installation prerequisites (flowmeter, pumping), ergonomics and performance. A high exit for the dehydrated pumps has also been planned to allow easier evacuation to the storage bins ”.

This strategy is already bearing fruit with the completion of numerous silo emptying operations and the sale of several containers in stock for maximum responsiveness.

We will prefer to carry out dehydration over long periods of time to limit the return to the top of the often septic filtrates which have an impact on the operation of the treatment plant and its performance ”.

To sum up, the HUBER Mobile Dehydration Units have already found many followers. They are appreciated for their performance for scheduled operations (emptying silos, rehabilitation work, etc.) but also for urgent interventions.
