Corporate sport, a strong focus of CROS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

CROS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is setting up a business sport system for clubs. The goal: to create bridges and strong links, as explained by Simon Contrepois, in charge of corporate sports within the CROS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

What is the objective of such a device?

We want to develop the idea of activating companies on the one hand, but also develop offers within sports associations for companies. The associations have not yet taken on this theme, although it is an aspect that can help them develop their economic model. We are therefore going to offer several training courses to help these sports associations get started in this environment. On the business side, we will create support with a diagnosis that will allow us to know the needs and resources of the company. The final objective is to be able to match companies with clubs and committees according to criteria that can bring them together.

Is this an important need on the part of the clubs?

We did a study of more than a year to make sure that it was really a need and that we did not go in a direction that was not useful. Precisely, we could feel a real need on the part of the associative sports structures. The business sector is a particular sector that requires specific knowledge, there is a need on this specific subject. We were also able to see that associations had developed offers for businesses, but were unable to promote them to businesses because they did not have the necessary network. We have thus set up a partnership with employer groups such as Medef, CPME and CRESS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. They will allow us to have access to this network of companies and to be able to promote these offers to companies.

After the health crisis, is the time ideal?

It is the perfect moment in the sense that this crisis linked to Covid-19 has made it possible to highlight the needs of sports practice for everyone. We also make companies aware that it is their role to keep their employees in good shape, which is a plus for better productivity. From a health point of view, it is therefore the right time, practicing a sport activity is important. Everyone thinks this is a good thing, you just need to give the impetus to make it go.

Is a test phase planned?

We first opted for a test territory, which is that of the department of Isère. In this territory, we have many sports associations which have already developed offers. I am thinking, for example, of the municipality of Grenoble, which practices sports in companies. This test will be around six months to see how it takes. During this period, we communicate with companies and we organize information evenings for clubs and companies.
