A springboard to launch a professional journey

On the 140 employees of the company specializing in printing, 120 are disabled. For the past month, the Cherbourg structure, based in Tourlaville, has called on a job coach to support employees with disabilities. And more particularly the beneficiaries of a CDD Springboard, a contract allowing them, over a maximum period of 24 months, to acquire skills and then move on to other private or public employers. This experiment, launched in 2018, brings together around 200 companies nationwide.

The Handiprint company has 17 people on fixed-term contracts Tremplin, whose contract is for a period ranging from 4 to 24 months.

The local of the company have been specially designed.

This person can help, according to the needs of the people, with the realization of a CV, the passage of the driving license, to make choices of orientation… This job supports the most fragile people who need to secure their professional career. .

A national innovation

Getting a contract is good, but you still have to succeed in doing so a step towards long-term employment afterwards. Certain administrative, social or organizational obstacles can make the integration of disabled workers more difficult.

Professional experience is essential, but with this coach, the company intends give confidence to employees.

We must take the next step, offer gateways to businesses. We must also reassure employers. People who apply elsewhere will have a recommendation from us, and a real follow-up to strengthen their bases, give them confidence and greater autonomy.

Nationally, few companies have set up this job coach job. It is to publicize this approach, and defend their importance, that Vincent Levieux will speak, in the presence of the Secretary of State in charge of Handicap, Sophie Cluzel.

Restore confidence

In one month, it is difficult to take stock of this new action. But Vincent Levieux is confident.

I just did an interview with a person who saw the job coach. As soon as we feel helped, we perk up, we feel better equipped to carry out the steps.

It is this expertise that he will pass on to the participants of this national meeting. “Our goal is always the same: to show employers that the world of disability is an asset. “
