Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 61 years old, has had one of the most successful comedy careers of the past 30 years. After gaining national fame as one of the main actors in the defining sitcom for the decade Seinfeld, Julia has only grown in size throughout her career. Included between Seinfeld, his 2006-2010 racing sitcom The new adventures of old Christine, and his most recent political satire Veep, she has won 11 Emmy Awards and been nominated for countless others. How did Brad and Julia meet?

Although Brad and Julia have worked together on a number of projects, they are actually college sweethearts! They met when they were both students at Northwestern University, and they did political skits on environmental issues in Brad’s comedy troupe “The Practical Theater,” he revealed in an interview in 2003 with the non-profit environmental association Grist. Julia admitted to being absolutely in love with the actor. “I was about 19 at the time and had fallen head over heels in love with Brad. He was a senior with a big old beard and Jesus’ hair, ”she said.

The couple married in 1987 and they couldn’t seem more in love even more than 30 years later. Julia shared a cute pair of photos of the two of them bathing in the ocean on June 25, 2021 to celebrate their 34th wedding anniversary. “Keep your head above water. From love and love to the love of my life, ”she wrote in the caption.

Brad is also a comedian

Since they met in a comedy troupe, it’s probably not surprising to learn that Brad is also a comedian. Brad and Julia co-starred as cast members on Saturday Night Live from 1982 to 1984. During their stay at SNL, Brad was even one of the hosts of the long series of current affairs skits “Weekend Update”. Brad has also made numerous appearances on his own, taking on small roles in a few other beloved comedy series and films. He has made appearances in occasional episodes of sitcoms Parks and recreation and Brooklyn nine-nine. He also lent his voice to the Pixar animated film The life of an insect.

He is a devoted father to their two children

Throughout their undoubtedly busy lives, Julia and Brad have also raised two wonderful sons. They had their first Henri, 29 years old, in July 1992, and their youngest son Charly, 24, in May 1997. The two children clearly inherited the genes of their entertainment-oriented family! Henry pursued a musical career by releasing his debut album Neato in October 2020. Charlie took his parents and tried his hand at the theater. He made an appearance on his mother’s show Veep in 2019, and most recently he had a recurring role in the series Love, Victor, selon son IMDb.

He produced and wrote for a bunch of TV shows

While Brad may have worked on camera, more recently he has been doing more of his work in the entertainment industry behind the scenes. He has been a screenwriter, director and producer for various shows, including Brooklyn Bridge, for which he was nominated for an Emmy, The single guy, for which he was a writer and producer, and many others. He even directed his wife in three episodes of his critically acclaimed series. Veep.

He was very supportive of Julia when she battled cancer

Julia’s battle with breast cancer from 2017 to 2018 was well documented, and the comedic actress completed her treatment and was cancer-free, as she continued to work on Veep. Brad explained that it was a “very difficult” time for the whole family in a March 2019 interview with We weekly. “I think in the end she did so well. We are blessed and grateful she has excellent health care… which was a wake-up call to us, ”he said at the time.
