Denise, 47, was a 2012 Strictly Come Dancing finalist and also appeared on Dancing On Ice earlier this year.

When asked if she would like to complete the ‘holy trinity’ by going into the jungle, Proud Cabaret Embankment star Denise said: ‘I’m being asked to do it, but there’s no way that I can do it this year because I am proud.

“I will at some point. I think I’m a celebrity for my 50th birthday would be something good to do.

“I am much more animated by the jungle than by Castle to be honest. “

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Denise also opened up about her health and fitness regimen – revealing that she overhauled her lifestyle with boyfriend Eddie Boxshall before the first lockdown.

The mother-of-one, Denise, explained, “Before the lockdown, Eddie and I were vegans for five months.

“We wanted to change our eating habits.

“So when we got into that first lockdown, the weather was great and everyone around us was barbecuing.

“We both decided that if we barbecue we would only eat meat once a month. And we kind of stuck to it.

“I was worried about my daughter because she loves meat and she is quite picky but she didn’t even notice it.

“I’m much more of the jungle vibes than the Castle vibes to be honest. “

“Eddie’s daughter is a vegetarian, so we presented Betsy a few pieces, Eddie was making spaghetti bolognese and he swapped the meat for Quorn. And Betsy didn’t even notice the difference.

“I felt so many health benefits. When you do, it doesn’t feel extreme at all. Once you’ve adjusted, it just becomes second nature.

“I feel like it has helped my body so my digestion and how I feel. I feel lighter and it has made me more aware of what I am eating. I try to take more care of myself.

“My pleasure and we normally do at the end of each month is to have a roast with meat. It’s my meat meal because I love a roast. Or we’ll have a big barbecue.

“But I feel so much better for it. With my training, too, everything goes hand in hand with eating this way.

Besides sticking to a cleaner diet, Denise says she fell in love with staying fit.

She now trains with a personal trainer a few times a week to keep her in shape after deciding to cancel her gym membership.

Denise says: “I like to train. I appreciate it a lot more than I ever thought.

“It really thrills me, it makes me so much better!

“I don’t go to the gym. We built an obstacle course in the garden during the last lockdown and it’s filled with things that I love to do.

“I have my own weights and I love doing them.

“The reason I got to keep mine is because mine is really fun. “

To encourage Britons to try a meatless picnic this summer, actress and presenter Denise Van Outen is teaming up with Quorn to deliver free meatless picnics via the Deliveroo app in London and Manchester on Saturday 7th and Sunday August 8, 2021, for 1p delivery while stocks last.
