Come Dine With Me set to rival Masterchef: The Professionals with its own spin-off featuring restaurant chefs

COME Dine With Me is the home of sleazy dinners, wacky cooks, and kitchen meltdowns.

But Channel 4 will offer a much more professional second serving later this year – featuring skilled chefs and restaurateurs.

King of voiceover Dave Lamb to oversee proceedings

The turn of the final series will see culinary aces take on other cuisines, with the aim of being crowned the best independent restaurant in town.

King of voiceover Dave Lamb will oversee the proceedings as restaurateurs dine blundered from their rivals on Come Dine With Me: The Professionals.

Producer Tim Carter, MultiStory Media, said, “For 15 glorious years, we’ve celebrated the culinary creations and epic failures that spring from national cuisines.

“Now, as they recover from the battering of the past two years, Come Dine With Me is cheering on British restaurants with its customary love note to the gastronomic endeavor. “

Over 2,000 episodes of the much-loved original have aired, alongside the spin-off series, Couples Come Dine With Me.

A source said: “Viewers love the show’s authenticity, whether it’s a blinding dinner through a kitchen failure or when they struggle to contain their emotions after a loss.

“We’d expect less of that in The Professionals – but who knows?

“The stakes are higher because the reputation of the place is at stake – and local rivalries may already exist. “

Each episode will feature three local restaurants competing for victory, along with a cash prize to be shared among all staff.

The restaurants will be represented by a partnership of two – for example the owner and the chef – who will welcome their rivals for a meal that they hope will impress.

Dinner takes place during a normal evening, so visitors will have a chance to experience the atmosphere, the food and the service.

At the end of each meal, visitors will mark the evening out of 20.

A representative from MultiStory Media said: “We look forward to crossing the country to meet some of the UK’s best restaurateurs and chefs. “

Opera delight for Will

WILL Young’s stint as Lionfish on The Masked Singer made him want to tackle classical music.

The singer, who rose to fame when he won Pop Idol 20 years ago, became the third celebrity to be unmasked last Saturday in ITV’s guessing game, after performing the opera classic Nessun Dorma and a country version of I Will Always Love You.

Will Young’s time as Lionfish on The Masked Singer made him want to tackle classical music

He told Lorraine Kelly on his show yesterday, “It was so much fun and I really mean it – I’m so proud of myself.

“It’s one of the highlights of my career, singing Nessun Dorma, because when will I have the chance to sing classical music on television?”

“It’s one of the things I’ve always wanted to do – it’s on my list. I’ve done so many things, but I haven’t done a classic record.

Last year Will made headlines when he handcuffed himself to the doors of a dog breeding center in Cambridgeshire to protest lab tests on animals.

He said to Lorraine, “I say, don’t feel hopeless. We live in a democracy. Peaceful and direct protest can work.

Dunback in action

AFTER playing an important role in the BBC’s success with Line Of Duty, ADRIAN DUNBAR brings his magic to ITV.

Yesterday he started filming the assassination thriller Ridley and he looked pretty happy, saying, “Everything from the cast and crew to the restoration is excellent. “

Corrie wins first prize

WE hear a lot about the rivalry between soap operas like Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street during awards season.

But Corrie star Jack James Ryan really rocked the apple basket with his latest claims.

Jack’s sister, Rebecca Ryan, recently joined him on the show

The actor, who plays Jacob Hay on the cobblestones, believes his show has the best canteen.

Jack’s sister, Rebecca Ryan, recently joined him on the show playing Lydia Chambers, so he took her on a tour.

He said: “I showed him the restroom and the canteen and – bang! – That was it.

“Corrie’s canteen is top notch. It’s so good, better than Emmerdale’s but don’t tell them that.

“She didn’t need a lot of advice from me.

“But I told him to take advantage of it because everyone is so nice.”

“I knew how well she would adapt to it. “

Soap battle, do you feel like it?

Litten back

BENIDORM creator Derren Litten hilariously hit back at a fan who said the ITV comedy should have been deleted after series five.

Derren, who also co-wrote The Catherine Tate Show, responded, “I respectfully disagree – so do my accountant, my cleaners, my gardener and my pool boy. “

Gino is an agent of change

Firing your management and going solo was a drastic decision for celebrities.

But Gino D’Acampo became the third This Morning star to leave his talent agency.

Holly Willoughby started the trend in August 2020, followed by Rochelle Humes at the end of last year.

The boss of Telly Gino started MeMs Talent Agency – but so far he’s the only client on the list.

His website suggests that Gino is looking to represent other prominent names.

He says that with his contacts in major TV channels, he “takes one step closer to realizing possibilities, never losing sight of what is best for our customers.”
