Success of DuoDay, the operation that promotes the immersion of disability in business

Companies have opened their doors, for a day, to people with disabilities. A moment of discovery and sharing which can be a springboard towards a job. #IlsOntLaSolution

Mélanie, with Down’s syndrome, is one of the candidates who, this year, applied to participate in the fourth edition of DuoDay. The 29-year-old usually works in sheltered workshops. For this DuoDay 2021, she landed a one-day job in a clothing store in Agneaux, in La Manche. Its activity: putting articles on the shelves. Mélanie discovers her new job with an employee of the company who will support and advise her throughout the day.

A great experience for this young woman but also for Sébastien, a young autistic who, for his part, repaired bikes in a major sports brand in Houdemont, in Meurthe-et-Moselle. “Since I am a big fan of cycling, it is an experience to be done”, he explains. Passionate about sport, the 30-year-old hopes that the 4th edition of this DuoDay will bring him luck with the key to a contract. Why not ? In France, 10% of DuoDay lead to job offers.

This year, the operation was a great success. More than 9,000 employers and 3,000 support professionals participated in this new edition.
