Marco shoes: last days before the closure of the Pont-de-l’Arche business

A business being closed is always a very painful time for managers and employees. A form of silence has settled in the company since the announcement of its closure at the beginning of December. No one wants to dwell on this “failure”. While there are still a few days of shoe sales in the store, a few employees were present at the end of last week. When asked about their feelings, the employees responded briefly:

“We don’t want to talk about it. It’s too hard what happens ”.

For the past two weeks, customers have been coming to the Marco boutique continuously. Most of them are regulars, some have even become close to the team of workers.

Blame it on the competition

Last Saturday, a lot of customers came to take advantage of the good deals. Roselyne considers “the closure of the business unfortunate. I know the lady who runs the business. Globalization got the better of this. It’s a shame for the staff. It provided a living for a lot of staff. “Catherine is on the same wavelength regarding Asian competition:” I also knew the previous family who took care of the company, the Morel family. It is always sad to see a business close. They have always made quality shoes. “Michel concludes laconically:” It’s a great business that is going away. “A last customer crossing the door of the store said to herself” surprised to see the closure of the business. Since the time that it lasts! “

Sacrificed prices

In the shop, Viviane Tassel is also living her last hours as director of Marco:

“The prices are attractive for individuals. The first pair was sold for 50 or 70 euros and the second for the size of your feet! “

The sale at reduced prices must end Wednesday 22 December 2021 at 5.30 p.m. But Viviane Tassel plans to open again at the start of the year: “We will see if we reopen the store at the start of the year. I still have a lot of administrative things to sort out and close beforehand. The bills will fall again, we have to take care of them, it’s a heavy burden ”.
