Two best friends from the agglomeration of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) are revolutionizing urban training, in other words, outdoor training. They have just created their company, Mobil’Training, a concept straight from Los Angeles, which cannot yet be found everywhere in France. This container houses all the equipment of a classic gym.
Native Châteauneuf-en-Thymerais (Eure-et-Loir), Jules Griveaux is 22 years old and has been a sports coach for three years. The young man gave lessons in a luxury Parisian gym, before the health crisis.
When the gyms were still at a standstill, Jules started coaching outdoors, in the parks and gardens of Paris. These sports sessions were, according to the coach, “not very practical”, due to the lack of equipment.
5.8 tons, a few square meters but a real gym
He talks about it to his best friend, Benjamin Lasserre, a graduate in automobile mechanics and also from the Chartres region, and an idea makes its way into the heads of the two friends.
We said to ourselves, why not put all the sports equipment in a container and make a mobile gym. It doesn’t exist yet, except in Los Angeles, on the coast.
Supported by Initiatives Eure-et-Loir, a few months later, the project was born. This mobile gym weighs 5.8 tons and the container contains everything you need to sweat, build muscle “even devices for doing cardio”.
The Mobile Training is located on the Butte des Charbonniers in Chartres, and two days a week at Shiny.
“The time to set up and take down the structure is around 45 minutes, in the morning and in the evening,” explains Benjamin.
From 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., in small groups
Jules takes care of the sporting part and Benjamin takes care of the administration and development of the company: the two Chartrains are more than motivated. They have developed an application, which allows customers to book their session in advance, and to arrive directly in sportswear.
We are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., we do about nine sessions a day and can accommodate up to twelve people. No more, like that we can adapt to the needs of each one.
In Chartres, they will soon be offering a reservation system takeaway meals to recover after a session. “My father is a caterer, he will be responsible for preparing them, there will be a fish dish, a meat dish or a vegetarian dish”, specifies Jules.
In Paris and throughout France
The two young entrepreneurs do not want to limit themselves to the metropolitan area of Chartres. They already want to develop a Mobil’Training network throughout France. “We would like to call on independent coaches, who will provide the sessions,” says Benjamin.
One second Mobil’ Training is planned for Paris and the two partners plan to open seven containers within five years.
